Erdal Arikboga

Hello, my name is Erdal, I am from Goreme in Cappadocia / Turkey. I come from a long line of carpet makers. I grew up around the art and have a deep love for the antique rugs, it’s difficult to describe how each rug makes me feel, the smell and feel has a life of its own. I am now married and have three boys who are starting to ask questions and show an interest in carpets too, I can not tell you how happy it makes me to know the love I have for this art has been passed down to yet another generation of my family.

Each rug has a story and is an individual work of art, handwoven to a unique pattern never to be repeated. All of my rugs are one off pieces ranging between 30 -80 years old, you can not find the same rug again.

I want to share the beauty and culture of every unique piece of art with those with a keen eye and recognise the community who still work hard to maintain and repair the carpets that I love to sell.

The rugs I deal with are no longer being produced due to the time and expertise required to make them to such a high quality. I spend a lot of time visiting the small Anatolian villages to find the right rug.
