I grew up on a farm near Abingdon Va, graduated from AHS and VHCC. Later I attended Virginia Tech. I Worked in the computer industry for VCCS, CCF, KO, CHC, CSC, and CCC. Software Consultant for olde AT&T, IBM, Nortel, and olde Wachovia. From time to time I write PERL and PYTHON programs and systems for myself. Once in a great while I work on a private distribution of GNU/Linux. Sometimes I write on a book or three. Occasionally I repair broken stuff, like computers and laptops, mostly for myself and friends. I also know how to build websites if I feel so inclined, or some interesting reason floats by. I also build software prototypes. I worked part time as a gym supervisor and internet mechanic after the computer software development and maintenance business died and went to Bangalore. Currently I am mostly retired.
Professional positions include: Database Analyst, Senior Software Consultant, Project Leader, Prototype and Systems developer, Computer programmer, Assembler, C, C++, Perl, PL/1, Python, REXX, SQL, etc.. Other positions include factory labor, gas station attendant, school bus driver, junk yard labor, retail stock clerk, and gym supervisor. More recently I have been a part time internet and cable TV mechanic.
Presently I am mostly retired.
