It is no easy task to paint a verbal picture of the person I am today while making certain I don't lose sight of who I was on the journey to this point,
I am a daughter, sister, niece, aunt, wife, mother, friend; in combination with being a mentor, confidant, prayer warrior, bible study leader, prayer group leader, drive through encourager, laundry perfectionist, so-so cook, organizer in search of the all encompassing solution to the mess that hinders me, chauffer, sometimes unwelcome chaperone, texting and talking super-hero without a cape, Jesus freak.
If I could sit and talk with you, I would tell you of the beautiful tapestry that God is weaving out of the tangled and less than beautiful details of my existence. I would share with you the pain of abuse and neglect at the hands of my mother and the frustration of living in the shadow of a dysfunctional family. I would cry with you as I share the joy of finding true love and losing it, only to watch God breathe life into our hearts once again. I would hint at the pain of loving someone precious as they walk through deep depression and the amazement of watching healing take place in ways that God and only God could orchestrate. And I would celebrate once again as I relived the countless moments that God has taken tragedy and turned them to triumph. I would listen with great interest as you shared your story with me, for each story is so much more than just words. We would gladly dissect the twists and turns of our lives, and savor the lessons we have learned along the way.
I don't consider myself to be someone who needs an audience, or even wants one. I kinda like being the behind the scenes girl, the one who will bring you a coffee and some tender (okay, not always tender, but heartfelt!) encouragement. But God sees something different. He has changed my heart and given me a passion -- to bring His message of hope and healing to a world of people who have been hurt by the very people who profess to love them. To learn to love ourselves and others the way He intended. To encourage you to look beyond the pain of today into the promise of tomorrow. To walk with you on this journey for a while, maybe because you've lost your way, or maybe because you have nobody else who will share His love and life with you. Believe me when I say, beyond a thread of doubt, that He is more than able to make every life something beautiful!
