Virginia Irurita
I was born in northern Spain in 1962. After more than a decade working in Citibank both in Madrid and in London I realized I could not go on living such a boring life. This was March 1999. I love art, history and archeology… I love taking pictures, reading biographies and traveling places to discover other cultures learning different ways of living. I love wine so much that a few years ago bought a vineyard in the Ribera del Duero. I love aperitif time in busy tapas bars, eating out, spending time with friends, visiting them in their homes, exploring the countryside. I love Spanish lifestyle. I left the bank immediately after to live the wonderful adventure of being host of travelers in Spain by founding Made for Spain. So, I began organizing trips for clients the same way I organized my own travels. I called friends and used my agenda to design itineraries. There is always a friend that has an uncle that has a castle in the area of Castilla my clients are visiting. There is always a friend that has a winery or a palace in the Rioja wine region. There is always a friend fashion designer, photographer or architect happy to my clients exploring the city. I am Spanish so I know the right people in the right places. This is my country, my territory. I have visited almost all towns and villages of Spain with my family in my young years. While being a girl my father made sure I slept in every Parador, discovered the magic of every monument, church or art collection and try all types of food of our country. I come from a family of travelers and I continue traveling, always on the road exploring Spain.
