Mahatma Gandhi was born as Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi on 2nd October 1869, at Porbandar Gujarat. His Mother's name was Putlibai who is religious women & his father's name was Karamchand Gandhi who worked as a dean in Rajkot Gujarat. Mahatma Gandhi got married at the age of thirteen to Kasturba Gandhi. Mahatma Gandhi was the leader of the Indian independence movement against British rule in India. He was a barrister by profession and simple living high thinking personality.

Mahatma Gandhi birthday 2nd October is celebrated as a national holiday in India and worldwide as the International Day of Nonviolence.
