while frustrating, one day last week my kitchen sink got clogged I did maybe not think it was going to become a big deal.

Another tip someone else had given me that I forgot to ask the plumber about is to flush it down your toilet and have a can of sodium each month. They told me it'd keep tree roots from increasing toward your pipes. So since I've trees in my garden I salt the bathroom once per month too..
