Student, Life Coach, and Public Speaker in Kolkata, India
The former 22 year old Indian Sprinter Viswajeet Sankhari is believed to be the highest decorated Track and Field athlete in the last two decades of Indian Sports winning the most prestigious awards and honors.
He is also tagged as the youngest ever athlete to participate in the top division events like the Commonwealth Games, Asian Games and the Junior World Championship.
Viswajeet shared a conversation he had with the retired icons and says he is fully aware that the responsibility to lead Indian sprinting now rests on his shoulders while underlining that he is more motivated than ever. But after his retirement from Track and Field due to the ankle injury he promises to take up the responsibility with Football.
His time on Track and Field has been very impressive, given that this is a sprinter who has gone past some of the fastest sprinters in the world in his age group. Winning is the first step on a road that he hoped will lead him to the top.
How impressive is it for a 22-year youngster to hold 803 awards, 11 stadium records, 17 Hall of Fame, 4 National Awards and to represent the Nation in 9 different counties? Well, we can only dream about such stats in this age.
After a couple of injury-ravaged seasons, Viswajeet showed glimpses that he was beginning to get back to his ultra-fast self with football.
His performances in the University games raised many eyebrows and he was given an offer to play at the highest levels at the earliest.
Meanwhile, the 22-year-old put in a lot of effort and time to overcome the injury damages and surprisingly he came back stronger and never failed to impress and entertain the audience.
With discipline as his prime motto, he has captured the interest of many selectors and teams. The ability to be agile and his fast feet have forced opponents not to writeoff the team when he is on the ground.
