I was born and raised in India and my current coordinates place me at Rockford, IL right smack in the Midwest approximately 90 miles from Chicago. I am currently at ServiceLive, a new startup at Sears Holdings Corporation, which provides a nationwide marketplace for services ranging from hard hat services like plumbing and electrical to soft skill services like pet walking and grooming. Prior to ServiceLive, I was Co-Founder and Vice President of Product Management and Marketing at GlobalRoads, which we launched in 2005 while I was in my second year of the Wharton MBA program. As head of product and marketing I led execution and product launches for three unique products: An open source sales automation enterprise suite that we launched at OSBC 2007, the first ‘Zend Framework’ based social apps platform and a mobile social apps platform called ‘Jamkai’ for the iPhone that was a ‘Staff Pick’ by Apple for the category. During this time I also participated in the Netflix million dollar challenge. My recommendation technology improved on CineMatch, Netflix’s in home system, by 5% and put me on their leaderboard for quite a while. I spent significant time at Selectica before GlobalRoads where I participated in a stellar IPO in 2000 and then led and grew the professional services organization for strategic accounts like Dell, IBM and Disney. An engineer by training, I graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology – Madras with a bachelor’s degree in engineering and came to the U.S to pursue my master’s degree in engineering at PennState where I received the graduate fellowship and the dean’s research fellowship. I also received my MBA with honors from the Wharton Business School with an emphasis on Marketing and Entrepreneurship.
