Vanessa Reich-Shackelford

Vanessa is a German and English-speaking, thrift store-shopping, 2 cat-owning, under the moon-dancing, too much random trivia-knowing, open-minded individual with a passion for putting pen to paper (or keyboard to word processor as the case may be), who hates small talk and oatmeal, and loves run-on sentences and a good night out freezing under a meteor shower.

Professionally, she excels in the areas of creative writing as well as writing for business. She has a knack with people, putting clients' needs first. For Vanessa, social networking is not just a hobby, but a necessity. Vanessa will take any topic and make it interesting and fresh, bathing it in a new light. She loves exploring all the angles. In her time at her university's newspaper, she often created controversy and inspired letters to the editor with her "out of the box" reporting. On the other hand, she can communicate with customers and clients in a professional manner, always respecting their concerns and wishes.

While she has mostly worked in customer service/administrative assistant capacities, she is seeking a position in which she can use her skills and knowledge, which she has adopted over many years through many experiences. Her ideal position would be one in which she can incorporate the following:

• Writing - including anything from fiction, non-fiction, blogs, poetry, and/or screenwriting
• Social media skills
• Knowledge of the world and its various cultures and languages (especially Europe and Asia, which she has explored in her free time and by growing up in an American-German household)
• Passion for fair trade and any practices which make the world a better place
• Academics
• Photograpy and other creative media
