Vivian A. Maese

Longtime senior executive and Wall Street veteran Vivian A. Maese currently serves as a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley. In her work for the prominent global financial services firm, Vivian Maese has responsibility for improving the company’s efficiency and profitability through strategic planning. Further, Ms. Maese supervises Morgan Stanley's strategic sites. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Vivian A. Maese was General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at BIDS Trading, L.P., a Securities and Exchange Commission-regulated alternative trading system (ATS). BIDS Trading, L.P., was formed by a group of prestigious Wall Street firms, including, but not limited to, Morgan Stanley, Bank of America Corporation, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase & Co., and Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. In addition to her role as General Counsel, Ms. Maese worked on SEC proposed changes to regulation, advocated in Washington, and oversaw regulatory compliance. For a year preceding her appointment by BIDS Trading, L.P., as General Counsel, Vivian A. Maese tackled a pivotal project for NYSE Euronext. Working alongside the President of NYSE Euronext and other prominent leaders, Ms. Maese built consensus among the Specialist community on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange to create a transformative new market model, which was approved by the SEC. She also worked on and gained SEC approval for the New York Block Exchange and led the team to acquire Wombat Financial Software, Inc. Vivian A. Maese started her career Salomon Brothers, which through a series of mergers became Citigroup. One of the first lawyers on Wall Street to identify the importance of intellectual property and technology, Ms. Maese built a global team to handle these important issues. Taking on greater degrees of responsibility following the merger with Citigroup, Ms. Maese earned a series of promotions that led to her positions as a Managing Director and Deputy General Counsel. Vivian A. Maese also served as General Counsel for Citigroup's Global Transaction Services line of business, which supports corporate clients in over 100 countries and generates $4 billion in annual revenue.
