V. Paul Janbazian

Born in São Paulo, Brasil, Vahak started playing drums at the age of 13. He began taking formal lessons at the age of 16 with North Jersey based instructor, Sal LaRocca (Teddy Wilson Trio, Junior Mance Trio). With Sal, Vahak studied Jazz, Latin and Rudiments. He has also studied percussion with Arto Tunçboyacıyan (Armenian Navy Band, Serart, System of a Down, Al Di Meola, Joe Zawinul). By the time he entered college, he was already touring and recording with his first band, The Davids.Since graduating college, Vahak has had the opportunity to record, perform and/or tour with Onelinedrawing (Jonah Matranga of Far), Darren Criss (Glee), The Animal Upstairs (Andy Mrotek of Whips, The Academy Is, and Cobra Starship), United Nations (Geoff Rickly of Thursday), My Chemical Romance, Chuck Treece (Bad Brains, Santigold, Urge Overkill, McRad), Dar Williams, Sleep Station, New London Fire, Beardan Coleman & The Minor Addictions, Sarah Lentz, Annie Quick, Miranda Stone, and The Midnight Hollow.Upon graduating from his grad school, NYU, V. began consulting for his own boutique form Caspian Seal. Clients ranging from The Nation, MediaPlanet to Bar-Maid and Interscope. In recent years, he obtained his real estate license and starting practicing in the Gold Coast region of North Jersey.
