My educational and professional background is concerned with several experiences in Latin American Politics, Teaching & Graduate Research Assistance, and Research/Analysis.

• Latin American Politics- the racial divide in Venezuela and how it contributed to the past reelections of Hugo Chávez as President, the political struggle for equality and recognition of Afro-descendant movements in Latin America.

“Globalization and its Effects on Latin America: Mexico, Venezuela, and Argentina" published in the 2008 McNair Journal.

• Teaching & Graduate Research Assistance- “Afro-Caribbean Politics and Culture in Central America,” “Western European Politics,” also worked with the African and African Diaspora Studies Department at the University of Texas at Austin.
