I was a self taught artist till I met an art professor in Bangalore. With the grace of god she accepted me as her student and taught me the basics of Tanjore and Mysore paintings.

It is a sheer blessing of god to get an opportunity like that which is helping me to devote my life to god through these paintings. The Tanjore and Mysore paintings are very intricate in nature and while drawing the outline of the painting or designing the stones and colours for the painting, a complete devotion and involvement about the god is an essential thing. This requires me to have a precise knowledge about the god or goddess and the myth associated with the god or the goddess.

For me, traditional painting is a gift that quiets my mind and brings peace to my very soul. I try to depict my devotion and involvement with each of my paintings that express love, peace, joy, and our relationship between us and God.

I sign all my paintings in the name of my late mother (“Visala”) hoping to keep her alive ever through my traditional paintings.

I attend various art exhibitions to learn more art forms and useful details that will help me improve my work. Also, I keep my paintings up for exhibition at various art exhibitions, essentially traditional art exhibitions.

Finally I’d like to end by saying that, in this beautiful journey of art, my husband and children have been the greatest source of support to me.

Love and regards
