Update June 13, 2015

Hard to believe 39 years have passed since I married at age 20, on June 13, 1976. I was so young, idealistic and full of hope. I tried hard. Stayed up all night, every night, while he was finishing his doctoral dissertation at MIT. Too young to know. After 18 yrs. we parted and it took another 18 yrs. for him to forgive me for divorcing him. I do know that we raised two wonderful young men we are both very proud of. The choices we make can be very difficult.

A long- time friend ran into me in 2014. He knew me when I had my own business designing, manufacturing, importing and selling custom area rugs to the best showrooms. Won a design award from ASID - my product was unique. I told him I sell LegalShield, he said its not for me, that I have so much more potential. For close to 2 years, my job search led me to apply to 171 jobs and 34 interviews. The one offer I received was rescinded when the DOJ could not verify my fingerprints - they are fading with age, but rules are rules.

My friend says he cannot understand how these companies did not discern the talents I posses. Representing LegalShield can be off- putting. Network marketing is something I do not enjoy. It was the only option I could find in a society that values youth over experience. I have learned I can offer voluntary employee benefits instead, I found my niche.

Long ago, my own company Moriel Rugs offered me incredibly creative and challenging opportunities. My last job as VP Business Development at NAPS was fulfilling, productive and rewarding, then unexpectedly, I was laid off.

Amazingly, I am happier now than I have been in a long time. I stopped looking for a job, no longer willing to subject myself to filling out endless applications and the stress of job interviews. I have the freedom to make my own choices.

Albert Einstein defined insanity as: “Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” I started working for myself, as an independent associate with LegalShield, offering a valuable and affordable service. I feel confident that I will succeed in this venture as well as representing other companies, such as Plume21, as perseverance is one of my best traits.
