Vikram Maran

15+ year career spanning roles in business development, data science, software engineering, and design research in the technology industry.

I've worked as a human-computer interaction researcher in a mobile health lab, software engineer, data scientist, data science coach, consulted as a CTO, global tech policy researcher, and business development director including biotechnology, telecommunications, health tech, government & policy, fundraising, and travel. My specialties include data science, experimentation at scale, digital platform engineering, and technology marketing strategy.

I am also passionate about community building and have led a variety of social service, health, and technical service efforts. Some of these include:

-Business consulting support for SMB owners and venture-funded startup founders via SCORE Tampa and Tampa Bay Wave

-Served as a technical and data science PM for DataKind and 48in48 to evaluate AI for Social Impact projects and built websites for 2 nonprofits, respectively. I also conducted causal modeling work as an individual contributor for a Statisticians without Borders project supporting a school district in an emerging country

-Serving as a Volunteer Leader for Hostelling International, where I led internationals on city neighborhood tours

-Organized and assisted fitness events for disabled individuals, blind athletes, and ultimate frisbee players.
