Vietnam Block Parties

Converse and Uncles Inc. are proud to present “The Block Parties!” A Vietnamese Hip-Hop show series designed to promote the positivity in Hip-Hop culture, sponsored in part by Rexona. This is a large annual music, dance, and lifestyle showcase series that will allow people of all ages to interact within the growing Hip Hop Community. The main goal of the tour is to provide a unique platform for students to express their creativity though this growing art form. “Block Parties” are a concept that began in urban New York in the 1970’s and have spread around the world as a fun and positive place to enjoy music, food and company. Justin Murta, of Uncles Inc., has decided to provide the community with this unique opportunity to enjoy this cultural experience. The very best talent in Ho Chi Minh City will be performing! Joining the event are some very special guests such as the world famous Rebelz (USA), Solar XK (UK), MK (Vietnam) and more! The showcase will represent the four main “elements” of Hip-Hop Culture which are: “Emceeing” (MC), Disc Jockey (DJ), Aerosol Art, and B-Boying (break-dance and HipHop dance) and other exciting sports such as skateboarding and BMX. Vietmax, from the world famous and Ho Chi Minh City Based “Big South Crew” and 84 Production will help produce the shows. The event also includes many fun activities such as: two Hip-Hop dance competitions (battles), beginner workshops, 1-on-1 demonstrations and an art wall “Free Wall”. The first event “Big City 4” Block Party will be held on March 13th at Trung Tâm Văn Hóa Quận 11 179 Bình Thới, P.9, Q 11. The festivities will start at 12pm and will include give-a-ways to the first 500 people for Converse and drinks.. Rexona will give-a-way at select events. Give-a-ways will be redeemed with a ticket that can be picked up at any local Converse store, Peace United shop, or other locations TBD.
