Madeline Sanders

Madeline Sanders is a native of Chicago, Illinois and a veteran of the U. S. Navy with an honorable discharge.

1973: graduated from Northwestern University with a political science degree. 1974: matriculated at California State University at Hayward- coursework towards a master's degree in public administration with a concentration in public policy. 1974-1982: work history was concentrated in law and public policy.

1983: worked with Dr. Michael Bakalis, director of the Illinois Project for School Reform as a research associate. She performed research about the use of substandard content materials in classrooms. The work led to passage of the Illinois School Reform Act (1986). 1984: Madeline became an activist in the South Shore Community, and was instrumental in creation of the Coalition for Improved Education in South Shore (CIESS), a nonprofit corporation created with the mission of ensuring that all South Shore youngsters had access to a rigorous academic education at the elementary and secondary levels.

1986, Madeline was hired by the City of Chicago to develop and monitor an adult education oversight program. That was a 5.5 year stint which she parlayed into additional education work at a middle school level as the science department chairperson and instructor, and worked for two years as a substitute instructor covering a myriad of programs in reading and mathematics.

1994: Madeline was introduced to the mortgage industry. For the next 13 years she introduced hundreds of customers to the American Dream, and she counseled investors relative to opportunities for capacity. She hosted a radio and cable tv show and hired and educated-trained loan officers. She also authored a loan processor training guide (1999). Ultimately, she took her business from a startup to a half million dollar operation. In 2007, Madeline began working to build both a solar thermal/solar electric and eco-friendly product business (i.e. ES21, Inc) as well as a think tank company (i.e. The Hilliard Project). She is leading a project team to build the first women veteran hospital in the US.
