Vongani Mashimbye
An Entrepreneur, Teacher, and Unshakable Optimistic in Pretoria, South Africa
For me, teaching is a calling. From my earliest childhood memories,I remember loving to play “school” and in the later years teachers saw the talent in me and trusted me enough to teach my own peers during extra lessons in high school. This love of the entire process of learning has followed me throughout the changes in my career path. In any role, regardless of whether I am acting in the formal roles of “instructor” or “student,” I seek to learn and teach.
I am passionate about my work. Because I love what I do, I have a steady source of motivation that drives me to do deliver my best lesson every time. In my last job, this passion led me to challenge myself daily and learn new skills that helped me to do better work.
For example,When I couldnt pay a professional developer, I taught myself how to design and develop websites from watching Youtube Videos to start a Digital Magazine called Poetrysocial. Through Trial and error the website grew to over 40 000 Subscribers in 6 months and to over 3 Million video streams on all our social and web pages.
I had to become resourceful to keep up and reach my goals and now am the go to person for all of my friends who are thinking of building digital magazines.
With theCovid-19 pandemic, it has become clearer thateducationsystem is susceptible to external dangers. This has lead me to think and learn innovative teaching and learning skills which I am always ready to implement in my teaching.
I am results-oriented, constantly checking in with the goals of my school is to determine how close or how far away we are and what it will take to make it happen. I find this pressure inspiring.
As you can see, my diverse and unique ability to learn new skills makes me a unique asset to your school.
Do the right thing for your students, hit me up.
