July 2010 Well it’s been a busy summer for the Torrences. We started off with vacation to Cancun right after school let out. We love vacationing there. I especially like it cause I don’t have to cook, clean or do any laundry for a whole week. Ryan and I made a quick trip to Phoenix for a friends wedding. When we got back we headed back out to take the jr high kids from church to ALIVE music festival and camped for 4 days. In July we spent a week in Colorado visiting family. And somewhere between all that we hosted a missionary family for two weeks and had a garage sale. Whew…. When does school start? Cloe will be going into 8th grade this year. She will play soccer in the fall. She also participates in Power of the Pen, and Quiz team, and looks forward to every opportunity to perform or watch any musical production the school has to offer. She takes her school work very seriously and managed all A’s last year. Cloe is a social butterfly and will claim that life is coming to an end if there is nothing on her calendar for more than 24 hours. She loves to be the most colorful dresser in the room which accounts for the rainbow in her closet. Cloe likes to cook, scrapbook, and anything to do with music and singing. She is also infatuated with Animaniacs, the broadway show Wicked, the color pink, and collects dum dum wrappers in which she intends on making her prom dress out of them someday. The twins are going into 4th grade. This year they are both going a full year without candy. Sydney started Tae Kwon Do this summer and is intent on getting a black belt before she enters 7th grade. She recently earned first place in gardening for 4H. Sydney collects frogs and her favorite color is green. Sydney is full of energy and is my night owl. Cozette wants to start violin lessons-not an easy feat in Holmes County, but I am determined to get something figured out. She is very creative and crafty and loves music. Cozette collects souvenir spoons and is very generous, helpful, and kind. She is my early riser. They are very different and their sleeping preferances are just the beginning-it makes life interesting in the Torrence household. I started substitute teaching last year and look forward to working again when school starts. I enjoy doing all sorts of things outdoors and like to stay active. I particularly love to get involved in the things that my kids have a passion for. They are so much fun. Over the past couple months I have been using some of my spare time helping to organize my 25 year high school reunion. It’s been fun reconnecting with everyone. Ryan turned 40 this summer. I find more things every year that makes me so thankful for all that he brings into my life. He has been working hard to develop his sales staff at Safe N Sound and hopes to expand outside the state. His summer passion is wakeboarding and gets up super early a couple times a week to go out to Lake Buckhorn to ride on “glass” conditions. Me and the girls prefer tubing. We love to spend time with our extended family. Some of our summer favorites include ultimate frisbee, the drive in movies in Strasburg, trips to Dairy Queen, swimming, and entertaining friends.
