Martin von Wolfersdorff
Growth hacker, Commercial excellence coach, and Chemical industry advisor in Berlin, Germany
Martin von Wolfersdorff is a globally recognized authority on recovered carbon black (rCB) and advanced carbon materials, operating at the intersection of circular economy strategy, tyre manufacturing, petrochemicals, and climate-aligned industrial transformation. As Founder of Wolfersdorff Consulting Berlin and the recovered Carbon Black Conference (Europe & Asia), he has built one of the sector’s most influential platforms connecting tyre OEMs, carbon black producers, pyrolysis developers, investors, and policy leaders.
With a background in chemical engineering (Dipl.-Ing., FAU Erlangen–Nürnberg), Martin combines deep technical literacy—spanning carbon morphology, furnace carbon black processes, pyrolysis oil upgrading, methane splitting, and material qualification—with market intelligence and strategic positioning. His advisory work supports start-ups scaling novel carbon technologies and multinational corporations navigating feedstock volatility, regulatory frameworks, and Scope 3 decarbonization pressures.
Prior to founding his consultancy, Martin held international commercial and strategic leadership roles at Cabot Corporation, Americhem, and Huntsman Corporation. At Cabot, a global leader in carbon black and performance materials, he served as Commercial Director Reinforcement Materials EMEA, working closely with tyre OEMs and industrial rubber customers. At Americhem, he held executive responsibility as Sales & Marketing Director EMEA, leading custom tailored masterbatch operations with a strong focus on growth in automotive interiors, synthetic turf and packaging. Earlier, at Huntsman Tioxide, he started as chemical & process engineer TiO2 finishing and evolved to technical service manager plastics & anatase, sales manager Germany, Switzerland, Austria & Eastern Europe as well as strategic marketing manager with responsibility for powder coatings, anatase and plastics.
He is also the author of the industry report “Prospects for recovered Carbon Black” and publisher of rCB News, delivering data-driven insights on pricing dynamics, supply-demand shifts, and technology readiness. Known for bridging technical detail with executive-level clarity, Martin is frequently invited to speak at international conferences and to moderate high-level panels across Europe and Asia.
His mission is precise: accelerate the industrialisation of reliable circular carbon solutions, combining ecology with economy.
