Declan Mulholland
Leeds, UK
Hello! I'm Declan. I'm currently standing in the student union elections for First Year Representative to the Student Council. The question I'd expect most people to ask, why vote for me? I'm a first year student studying Marketing at City Campus, Leeds Met, so I understand the importance of first year students having their voices heard (even after a hangover). I began to develop an interest for change, to make a difference at an early age. With a passion for debate and politics my aims as First Year Representative are to stand up for, represent and prioritise the issues and matters felt by first year students. Highlighting them to the student council to push for change, to make things better.
Our city Leeds is a melting pot of culture and ancestral variation. I am a strong believer in multiculturalism, to bring that amazing diversity to Leeds Met Student Union and truly make it a place for all. My aim for decision making and debate in the union is transparency between council and union decisions, communicating what actually is going on and giving an honest unbiased opinion.
Theses are some of my values and principles, I hope I've managed to persuade you vote for me in the upcoming elections, if you have any questions on my opinions or my stance on certain matters feel free to tweet me @DecUniRep.
Voting starts October 14th at 0:01, vote online via X-Stream (Student Hub Tab)
