Dr. Victor Peña-Araujo
Austin, Texas, United States
Victor Peña-Araujo is a husband, father, and an intensely passionate advocate of enjoying life to the fullest while minding the interests of others.
Having an incurable curiosity for the natural world and the nature of life, Victor lives to share his love of simply being. He shares it with his wife, twin daughters and with anyone else who doesn't have to listen to his ramblings.
Having lived in Mexico City, New York, Boston, Dublin, London, Lyon and now Austin, Victor is grateful for what a "moveable feast" life can be in such a magnificent planet.
Victor has been a lifeguard, a volunteer emergency medical technician, a science museum guide, a surgeon, an expedition medic, a designer of a surgical simulator, a clinical science tutor, an academic author and freelance author & editor, and an improptu late night Barcelonan clay sculptor.
His fascination with experiencing life has made him run triathlons and a marathon, climb an Andean glacier, sleep under a garbage bag in the wild and in First Class on Air France, pilot a Cessna as a teen, brush his teeth with ash, build a working human hand out of Lego, fire a .45 as an 8-year-old, start a fire with two sticks and dig the ground for drinkable water, pet a shark, touch a moon stone, witness the aurora borealis in absolute awe, craft obsidian arrowheads with bloody hands, work non-stop for 56 hours, propose to his beloved at the top of the Eiffel Tower, visited 22 countries, dine alone with a president, meet Buzz Aldrin, study Italian for 3 years, be taught French by his toddlers and sign language by his wife.
He is now founding ELITE Personalized Health, an innovative, science-based, online health coaching venture based in Austin, Texas. Its mission is to inspire, educate and lead its clients to live the healthiest, happiest and most invigorating life possible.
He is far from being 'The Most Interesting Man In The World,' but he firmly believes that we all should strive to make our own lives as interesting as possible... to ourselves.
