Venkat Peri
I have evolved from a habitual tinkerer through avid programmer, inventor, technologist to a business person and entrepreneur. My education started in Pune (India) and formally ended at Columbia University’s PhD program from which I dropped out and co-founded RemoteReality. My inventions solve problems that have tangible commercial potential (e.g. 360-degree optics and software, text-to-speech for Indian languages) and transition to ventures when market and symbiotic technologies are ready.
I am a rapid-fire thinker with associative memory and can just as easily take a broad multi-disciplinary view or a hyper-focused narrow view to problem solving.
I enjoy karṇāṭak music and my wife’s eclectic playlists that are exclusive of anything classical. I am defacto assistant to my son’s dramatic reenactments. I practice and informally instruct yogāsanā. I am a life-long vegetarian and avid tea drinker. I can often be seen with my cat around my neck and shoulders.
