I prefer to call myself a photoartist. A camera produces a photograph but a photoartist produces his or her vision in the form of an image. The camera to me is an enabler. Sometimes it captures what I see in my mind. Sometimes it does not. I'd rather not get caught up in debates about what "true" photography is and concentrate on whether the final image speaks to me or not.
