Vraj Patel

I am a sophomore at University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Currently, I have completed my second year of the Chemical Engineering Program with an Engineering Management minor. I am looking for an internship in any field of chemical engineering, particulary petroleum, chemical process modeling, or process control, so I can apply my knowledge of chemistry/mathematics along with management in the real world.

I have a varied array of interests, but I am the most passionate about music. I am very involved in the new Electric Dance Music movement that has taken over around the world. Music is a form of expression or a universal language that people from different parts of the world use to connect with one another. The whole concept to me is fascinating. I have gone to many concerts over the last two years, my favorites being Hardwell and Tiesto.

Apart from my interest in music, I enjoy learning about managing and marketing. When I was very young, I was surrounded by investment marketing because of my grandfather. This sparked my knowlegde and interest in this field. Once I took a couple of these courses, I really enjoyed it. After realizing that my oppurtinites were limited with only an engineering degree, I took my other interest and made it my minor: Engineering Management. In today's world, it is very benefical to have some skills in business, as it has become a consumer market.
