I’m married to my wife Amy, and we’ve been happily married for 30 years. Together, we have five amazing children and eight wonderful grandchildren. We are now empty nesters living in rural Nebraska. I grew up in Omaha, Nebraska, and graduated from Northwest Sr. High, Class of 1994.

After high school, I went into welding and helped start a security company. Not long after that, I moved into maintenance work, and I’ve now spent over 26 years working in the maintenance field.

In my free time, I enjoy amateur photography and capturing moments through the lens. I’m also an amateur radio operator. My first callsign was KD0PMZ, but my current callsign, W0CES, originally belonged to my late father. When I was younger, he always encouraged me to get my amateur radio license, but at the time, I just wasn’t interested. Several years after he passed away, the bug finally bit me, and I decided to take the test. Being able to carry on his callsign is a special way for me to honor his memory, and amateur radio has been a blast ever since.

Other hobbies I enjoy include shooting, spending time outdoors, and relaxing with our dogs.

My current station setup includes:
• Radio: Yaesu FT-710, FT-891 for portable comms
• Antenna: Homebrew End-Fed Half-Wave (EFHW) covering 10m–80m
• Modes I enjoy: Digital and SSB

Hope to catch you on the air. 73 from Nebraska — W0CES.
