Wachera has collaborated with storytelling teams at Everyday Africa, Pulitzer Center, Black Women Photographers, UNICEF, serving on the photography juries for the 2024 World Press Photo contest, the 2024 Standard Chartered Weather Photographer of the Year and the 2024 & 2025 Hamburg Portfolio Review.

Wachera is also a comic artist, having produced a series of period comic books titled 'Tunu's Gift'.
