Wachera is a seasoned creative, passionate about the arts and communications with an interest in creating diverse, safe, inspirational and accessible spaces for people to connect.

Professionally, Wachera is a commissioning editor at Blumhouse Games. She also writes Postcolonial Perspectives, a photography column for the VII Foundation. Read the latest article here.

Her work blends art direction and editorial design collaborating with storytelling teams at Everyday Africa, Pulitzer Center, Black Women Photographers, UNICEF, serving on the photography juries for the 2024 World Press Photo contest, the 2024 Standard Chartered Weather Photographer of the Year and the 2024 & 2025 Hamburg Portfolio Review.

Wachera is also a comic artist, producing a series of period health comic books titled 'Tunu's Gift'.
