Rick Wade
Columbus, Ohio
Rick Wade graduated from The Ohio State University Spring 2004, where he obtained his B.A. in English, only after changing from Math, to Science, then to English. It is important to know he still graduated in four years! Rick has been a substitute teacher for Columbus City Schools since the fall of 2004 and has been fortunate enough to be in one building till the end of the academic school year in 2013. Rick notes, he has built life long relationships with not only parents and students, but staff alike. Northland High was in short, like a second home he notes. He has meet wonderful staff members who have mentored him, along with principals who have taken him under their wing. The most rewarding position he had in that building was Dean of Students. In that position he grew so much, and most importantly, it allowed him to see how the “other” side of the building operated and see what “best” practices really were and how they were applied in the classroom.
Rick recently just finished his comprehensive exams for his doctorate degree in education, which has been a long road. During the 2013 summer and fall semesters, he is taking a break from school. Although he hates doing it, it is for a good reason as he is preparing to move across the county for a new and excited chapter in his live. Rick is moving to Las Vegas, Nevada. This is a new exciting challenge and career opening opportunity he cannot wait to explore!
What stated out as a hobby soon became a moneymaking passion. He dj’s, weddings, parties, and other events which he always gets the crowds moving. As much as he is excited about moving to Vegas, he has to stop dj’ing due to the culture change and he will need to adapt to dj’ing out west – which is sure to be different!! Here are some of his samples from dj’ing... Samples
