I started working at my parent's Italian restaurant in New York City when I was 15 years of age. While working there and completing high school, I started building what later became a successful career in the music business. By the time I reached 17, I was recording and performing my own music which sold modestly and gained popularity at many of the top new wave/techno dance clubs around the country. A year later, I had developed a great interest in the online industry which later became the Internet. It wasn't long before I dived in as one of many pioneers and designed, built, and, launched two popular online services (Novus Online Services and ChatLink) alongside larger competitors such as CompuServe, America Online, Prodigy, Delphi, Genie, and a few others. My 15-year career in the "record business," included evolving as a recording artist, becoming a producer, signing artists, and eventually running an independent record/music label that was distributed by Universal and in conjunction with Blackheart Records. Yes, that's "Blackheart" as in Joan Jett and The Blackhearts. But after a 5-year run, technology revolutionized the industry while killing it at the same time. Digital downloads replaced CDs, the employment of thousands, and record stores both large and small. I have fond memories of my time in the business and regularly find similarities to my work today. After all, they are both creative businesses.

Today I serve as both a futurist and account planner/strategist at The Wagner Agency, an advertising agency, a marketing agency and a business consulting firm that is digital-first and consumer-focused. My work is highly influenced by social anthropology and my ongoing study of human behavioral trends.

For the past 7 years of my 20-year career, I have hosted and produced various live streaming programs and podcasts, most notably of which is Wagner Live. A weekly podcast and live streaming show with fresh perspectives on what's hot in business today can be found on your favorite podcast platform as well as Facebook and YouTube.
