Wakesho Peris

A Forensic psychologist by training with 15 years of experience in HIV and AIDS, Reproductive Health, Advocacy, Youth and Gender programming, management and implementation. Currently serving as the Executive Director for Asilia Africa, an International Non Governmental Organization working to improve access to Reproductive Health services for vulnerable and marginalized women. She also founded First Consultants a company that provides Psychology of security related services. Peris also leads Ashoka East Africa, Youth Years work as the program director charged with designing, management, growth and evaluation of the iniative.

Certified in Psychology (Counselling), Human Resource Management, Public relations and with vast experience in programming, managing and running Youth friendly services. She is currently working on her thesis for the award of an MSc. in Forensic Psychology and Criminal Investigation.

Her Key contributions include participation in various national and international forums on development of Regional and national documents, youth networks, design & growth of various programs and review of several national and international instruments guiding HIV and AIDS, Youth and Reproductive Health work.
