Waleed Elgindy

Waleed Elgindy is Senior Director of Global Olympics Sponsorship Marketing for Visa, Inc. In this role, he is responsible for leading the global efforts in all Marketing Communications activities related to the Olympic sponsorships around the world, including the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro (2016), Pyeongchang (2018), Tokyo (2020), and the corresponding Paralympic Games. Also responsible for marketing partnerships and collaboration with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the International Paralympic Committee (IPC).
Prior to this role, Waleed was Senior Director of Global Brand Marketing and Strategy, where he was responsible for global brand strategy development for the Visa brand and the Visa Inc. portfolio of payment products and solutions. In this role, Waleed led the development of Visa’s new corporate brand positioning and successful launch of the new brand communications platform, Visa. Everywhere you want to be, in January 2014.
With over 13 years of experience in driving global business and marketing strategy for blue chip companies around the world, Waleed has extensive experience developing breakthrough strategies and driving transformational change and business growth. Prior to joining Visa, Waleed was a senior marketing strategist at Prophet Brand Strategy, where he spearheaded the development of global marketing and brand strategies for a diverse group of global clients and industries, including United Airlines, General Electric, MSNBC, Hyatt Hotels, T. Rowe Price, and First Data Corporation.
Waleed previously served as Senior Manager of International Relations for the Chicago 2016 Olympic Bid Committee, where he developed messaging and communications strategies for members of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), coordinated outreach efforts with U.S. government agencies, including the U.S. Department of State and the White House, and represented the Chicago 2016 bid at numerous international sporting conferences throughout Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.
Waleed received a B.S. in Marketing & International Business from Indiana University, and an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Waleed is fluent in English, French, and Arabic.
