For most young kids going to work with your dad is something you look forward to right? Seeing what your dad does whether he is a teacher, a doctor, or a lawyer is quite exciting at a young age. Surprisingly enough that was not the exact case for me. This was due to the fact that my dad owns and operates a funeral home and still currently does. Telling people what my dad does for a living usually gives people goosebumps as well as an odd looking face that is confused why someone would want that job. So since my dad owns the local funeral home in town, it seems inevitable that I would follow in his footsteps and continue to pursue the funeral home business. But I am a young nineteen year old in college seeking out every opportunity out there. I truly do not know what I want to be when I grow up and I currently do not have a major solidified. I wish I had my future planned out to a tee, but sadly I do not. All I know is that I want to be successful, but back to me as a kid. I figured out that my dad’s job wasn’t so much different than everyone else’s. Visiting and learning, when I was young, what my dad does while on the job proved to me it is not as strange as my initial thought of a funeral home. Now I completely comprehend that a funeral isn’t just all about death, even though my young mind could not get over it. In reality it’s a normal job to me now, but to others it is still strange, but hey someone has to do it.

The second main part of my life one needs to understand is that I love dogs. Of course being at UGA I love the Dawgs too, but when I say dog, I mean the actual animal. Specifically my two labs Calli and Marley. Don't judge me on the name Marley for a dog either, I know that is uncreative, but I did not name her. I rescued her from someone else who was somewhat mistreating her. Trust me I could have come up with a million other names, but changing her name was not an option since she was already accustomed to it. I cannot truly explain my love for dogs, especially my own, because it is such a strange undeniable love. Animals bring out the best in people, and my two dogs definitely bring out the best in me. So if there is any advice I would give to someone it is to try to find an animal or animals they truly adore and cherish, becasue they will ultimatley change your life for the better. There is nothing better than knowing that there are always two "people" always waiting happily to see you when you arrive home.
