A Chicago resident with a diverse professional and academic background, Walonza Hall holds an associate of science in broadcast communications from Brown College in Mendota Heights, Minnesota, and certification in radio broadcasting through the Illinois Center for Broadcasting. She subsequently obtained licensure as a pharmacy technician, then found employment as a case manager with the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC).

After serving eight years with the IDOC, Walonza Hall went back to school where she earned cosmetology certification through Your School of Beauty Culture. In addition to her basic cosmetology credentials, she received additional certification as an eyelash technician, a microblading technician, and an airbrush makeup technician.

Walonza Hall owns and operates the full-service Chicago cosmetology business M and M Beauty Services. A black woman who was born into modest means, Ms. Hall makes regular public speaking appearances to share the story of her formative years in the inner city and her journey to entrepreneurial success.
