Walt Coulston

Walt Coulston is a Sydney-based property professional with 20 years’ experience in the Australian real estate sector. Born and raised in regional NSW, Walt saw first-hand the critical nexus between property and the delivery of essential community services. As a result, a major focus has been the delivery of critical community and digital infrastructure across all the major asset classes and markets throughout Australia, while earning a reputation for being at the forefront of Sustainability and ESG best-practice.
Walt begun his career at Jones Lang la Salle (JLL) in 1999, after graduating from Western Sydney University with a bachelor’s degree in Property Economics. Quickly becoming one of the youngest Directors in Australia at JLL, Walt was responsible for the strategic leadership and oversight of a portfolio of Industrial, Bulky Goods and Alternative Asset Classes, with major clients including Goodman, Walkers, ING and Lend Lease. While still in his 20’s, Walt later founded his own development and investment company, Coulston Group, primarily to develop a number of sites in regional NSW which his late father David had purchased and intended to develop himself, however sadly passed away at the age of only 49 in 1991. Coulston Group rapidly amassing a broad portfolio of development and income producing assets spanning the high density residential, retail, commercial, industrial and hospitality sectors.
After finalising Coulston Group’s projects, Walt established a further venture as a co-founder of CK Group, a true national diversified real estate Investment and development firm. Operating as the Managing Director, Walt was responsible for acquisitions, feasibility, financing and project delivery. CK Group focused primarily on the Alternative Asset classes of Healthcare and Early Education sectors, however also developed large mixed use Town Centres, Hotels and Digital Infrastructure assets. Combining activities from Coulston Group and CK Group, Walt delivered well over $1BN worth of projects, with major developments delivered in each major capital city in Australia.
