I'm a born and raised Kansan. After spending a year in college unsure of what I wanted to do I enlisted into the military. I spent twenty-four years in the military spending time with units ranging from the 101st Airborne (Air Assault) Division to the 2nd Armored Calvary Regiment.
After I retired I became a "stay at home dad" so that my awesome wife can pursue her degree in Accounting at the University of Kansas. I have found that being a stay-at-home parent is just as challenging as being in the military albeit the challenges are different.
During the twenty-four years I was in the Army I lived such values as duty, self-less service, honor and respect. In the military you learn to put yourself and (unfortunately) your family second to the mission and helping others. I feel that I am wired to serve so now I feel like I can serve my community to fill that void. I know there are many ways to serve the community. I am currently elected as the Precinct Committeeman in the 9th Precinct and am on the Moonlight Elementary School Site Council. Part of helping people is keeping people informed and moving forward. In order to have a transparent government that represents the citizens they have to be informed.
