Walter C. Flower, III
After graduating from Harvard Business School with his MBA, Walter C. Flower, III served as an Economics Adviser under contract to the United States Agency for International Development. From there, Mr. Flower joined the national investment counseling firm Loomis, Sayles & Company. After working for two years at its Boston headquarters, Mr. Flower expanded the firm's presence to New Orleans, where he served as the Vice President and Managing Partner for 10 years. In 1978, Mr. Flower founded the registered investment counseling firm Walter C. Flower & Company, Inc., where he and his partners continue to focus on investment strategy, development, and management for individuals, families, charities, and businesses. As a manager of capital, Mr. Flower prides himself on a responsible approach to investment. He works closely with his clients to establish goals that direct the course of the investment strategy. Walter C. Flower, III holds the role of President of the Industrial Development Board of the City of New Orleans, which promotes economic development through the issuance of low-interest bonds to project developers. Mr. Flower and the IDB have issued $650 million in bonds since Hurricane Katrina alone. Aside from his work with his firm and IDB, Walter C. Flower, III serves on the President's Council of Tulane University, as Chairman of the Finance Committee of the Tulane University Hospital Board and the Tulane Health Sciences Board of Governors (former Chairman), and as a member of the Beauregard-Keyes House. Mr. Flower is also a U.S. Navy veteran, having served as a Supply Corps Officer in the early 1960s.
