Walter Smith-Randolph

Walter Smith-Randolph is an award-winning journalist who currently reports and anchors for NBC25 News (WEYI-TV) in the Flint/Saginaw, Michigan market. Joining the station as lead reporter in January 2013, Walter turns daily packages for the 6pm and 11pm broadcasts.

Previously, Walter was the lead reporter and a fill-in anchor for WENY-TV News, the ABC/CBS affiliate serving Elmira and Ithaca, New York. While there, Walter was honored with three First Place awards from the New York Associated Press. He won First Place for Best Continuing Coverage in 2012 for his reporting on Superstorm Sandy. In 2011, Walter was honored with First Place awards for Best Spot News Reporting and Best Enterprise Reporting.

Walter also has professional experience at WRNN/Verizon FiOS 1 News in New York City where he was a photographer and editor. He also completed internships at News 12 The Bronx, WBRE Eyewitness News in Scranton, Pennsylvania, NBC10 in Philadelphia and Religion & Ethics Newsweekly in Washington, D.C.

The New York City native holds a masters degree in Journalism from The City University of New York Graduate School of Journalism and a bachelor's degree in Communication from Villanova University.
