For the longest time, my uncle told me that my father was a navigator on a spice frieghter. However, he didn't actually hold with my father's ideals; he thought he should have just stayed at home and not gotten involved.
Yeah, he was a Jedi Knight. And the best star pilot in the galaxy. And he had good friends.
When I grew up, he wanted me to have his lightsaber. You see, a lightsaber is the weapon of the Jedi Knights. It's not as clumsy or random as a blaster. It's an elegant weapon for a more civilized age. I've heard it said that for over a thousand generations the Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic. That was before the dark times. Way before the empire.
Sorry, I get ahead of myself... Anyway, my father was killed by a Jedi named Darth Vader, who was a pupil of Obi-Wan Kenobi, before he turned to evil. He helped the empire destroy the Jedi Knights, he was betrayed and murdered.
It's a pretty terrible hand to be dealt. But I perservere. Mostly by drinking copious amounts of Samuel Adams beer, playing video games, watching the Baltimore Ravens and dressing up as the bastard that killed my dad.
