An alumnus of Wofford College, Ward Mungo earned a bachelor's degree in business economics and Spanish from the Spartanburg, South Carolina-based school in 2012 and subsequently began his career as an Assistant Project Manager in the Coastal Division at Mungo Homes. He later served the company as a Project Manager, Purchasing Agent, and Product Development Official. In the latter role, Ward Mungo performed market analysis for the development of residential communities and designed new home plans aligned with consumer trends.

Ward Mungo has served as President of Mungo Construction since 2018, overseeing all operations for the growing residential general contracting firm. Certified by the National Association of State Contractors Licensing Agencies, he specializes in affordable housing development.

Complementing his construction experience, he serves as President of the Board of Directors for the Charleston Homebuilders Association and serves on the Board of Directors for the Homebuilders Association of South Carolina. Outside of his professional endeavors, he enjoys traveling, playing golf, offshore fishing, and most importantly, spending time with his family.
