HELLO AND WELCOME to my blog. This is a forum designed to provide an inspirational grounding for those seeking guidance as they struggle through the challenges of life.

I am not a pastor — but a retired journalist and author with a recent passion for the Lord and His message of redemption. It is my prayer that the Lord can use me to help others find direction and purpose through His written word.

The blog, itself, is an article of faith as well as an experiment. Readers are encouraged to respond to posts with their own testimony or favored Bible verse or life experience. As readership grows, the blog will need to grow. Who knows what the Lord has planned?

Expect some rough seas to begin with. That’s the experiment part. The faith part is the fact that the blog exists at all. The thrill of working on each installment, getting in touch with the Creator of the universe through prayer and Bible reading, is amazing. Sharing the experience with you, my readers and collaborators, completes the circle.

A brief word about me. I made my proclamation of faith on a Wednesday evening, Nov. 10, 2010, when I realized with a deep conviction that I wanted Jesus in my heart. I knew He was—and is—Truth.

He graced me with Pentecost at a church retreat on a Sunday, April 3, 2011, when I held a wooden cross with the words “Prevenient Grace” stenciled on the beams.

The words mean that God has done all of the work for salvation and all I have to do is believe. The cross vibrated in my hand. I felt the Lord telling me to “go” — a recurring them among the devotions in this blog — and spread His message.

Frankly, I am a poor messenger for the Gospel. That’s okay because He works through me and despite me. He will not be stopped. I just feel so grateful that He wants to use me. He and I both know He can get the job done better himself, but what a privilege that He chooses to work through us, His creation!
