Warren Melamed
Founder and CEO in Brentwood, TN, US
In preparation for what would become a four-decade-plus career in the field of dentistry, Warren Melamed, DDS, graduated from the Meharry School of Dentistry in Nashville, Tennessee. He subsequently completed a dental internship at a Nashville hospital, finishing the program with honors. Following a year building experience as a staff dentist at Matthew Walker Health Center, Warren Melamed, DDS, went into business for himself, establishing his own Nashville dental office, which he proceeded to grow into a 4,000-patient practice.
Dr. Warren Melamed continued his business success when, in the early 1980s, he founded Monarch Dental in Texas. Under his direction as CEO and chief dental officer, this Dallas-Fort Worth practice saw consistent expansion, employing 400 staff members across 15 offices by 1995. Following a merger, Monarch Dental became Monarch Dental Corp., with 450 dentists and specialists and a 3,000-member support staff in 200 locations. Dr. Melamed took the company public on the NASDAQ stock exchange.
Warren Melamed, DDS, returned to Nashville in 2005, founding Embassy Dental. Along with growing it into a seven-location practice treating 20,000 patients per year, he guided the business into becoming an award-winning corporate sponsor of Nashville CARES, an organization that provides services to people diagnosed with HIV/AIDS. Currently a Tennessee-based consultant, Dr. Melamed continues to support Nashville CARES in addition to other organizations in his community.
