Student and Brewmaster in Progress in Olds, Alberta, Canada
What’s up, I’m Warren. I am a fan of entrepreneurship, music, and travel. I’m also interested in hiking and being outdoors. You can view my portfolio with a click on the button above.
I am a Brewmaster student at Olds College. I have had an interest in beer for longer than I have legally been able to drink it. I am looking to advance my knowege as well as undertake a career change away from being a welder in the oil and gas industry and into the brewing industry. I am a craftsman and think that no matter what industry one is involved in there are certain characteristics required to being one. I am hard working and dedicated to what I set my mind to. I pay close attention to detail. I am meticulously minded and have always been a precise and articulate individual in everything that interests me and think this relates well to the science and artistic form behind brewing.
Personal Vision
To learn as much as possible about the evolving and competitive brewing industry, which will in turn result in fulfilling my professional goal of one day operating my own brewery or working within the brewery industry. After gaining this knowledge I want to create a treasured regional brewery that will have a positive impact in the society around it. Striving to use locally sourced products whenever possible to strengthen the local economy. Pay local staff a fair wage as well as support and sponsor local events. Oh yeah, and produce some damn good beer in the process.
Mission Statement
To obtain the knowledge to be successful, the experience to be a leader, and the confidence to turn it into a business.
Short Term Goals
To gain as much knowledge and experience as possible through my education at Olds College as well as obtaining a broad spectrum of experience by working in a brewery.
Long Term Goals
To grow a business slowly and steadily paying close attention to sustainable growth as well as promoting the local economy. Using local ingredients where possible, local employees, and focusing to build custom beers for the local market demand.
Brew the beers that friends, family and myself want to drink
Code of Ethics
I think my code of ethics can be summed up in these points.
-Fairness: Being fair with prices, wages, giving to community, and treatment of others.
-Community: Support the ones that support you.
-Attention to Detail: Always concentrate more on creating quality before quality.
-Environment: Focus on sustainability, not just growth of your business.
