Warren Slocum
Elected Official in Redwood City, California
I am honored to serve on the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors. I represent approximately 185,000 residents in the southern bayside communities of East Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Redwood City as well as a large unincorporated area known as North Fair Oaks.
My work focuses on quality of life issues in District 4 and regionally I work on transportation, equity, affordable housing and social justice. Some of the work I do surrounds the boards and commissions I serve on such as Housing Our People Effectively (HOPE) and the Housing Endowment and Regional Trust (HEART) and I am the past Chair of the Local Agency Formation Commission. I also serve on the Board of Directors of Peninsula Clean Energy.
My office has two legislative aides who are committed to public service and are organized around policy areas like affordable housing, transportation, and veteran's affairs - as well as other important policy areas. They also focus heavily on constituent matters.
I am proud to have started the county's Veterans' Commission and the Poet Laureate program and I have made "ending veteran homelessness" a county wide priority.
Some of my other accomplishments include serving as a Presidential Election Observer in Albania, completing the Escape from Alcatraz race and getting elected Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder & Chief Elections Officer. I founded a leadership academy at Stanford University and served as past president of the Mid-Peninsula Boys & Girls Club and the Redwood Shores Rotary Club.
