Wataru Takada is a high-achieving math student at Bronx High School of Science in New York City. In addition to completing courses such as honors trigonometry and sophomore math research, Wataru Takada is part of the school's math research program, in which he is working with a University of Rochester professor on an algebraic geometry project that he plans to submit to the 2017 Regeneron Science Talent Search.

Beyond having a strong desire to pursue mathematics in college, Wataru Takada volunteers his time to tutor middle school students in the subject as part of Top Honors. He recently received a Most Supportive award for his dedication to tutoring. Although he has lived in the United States since he was 3 months old, he maintains a strong connection to his Japanese heritage and is completely fluent in the language. He's also a passionate creator of origami who operates a blog where he showcases some of his work.

When he isn't pursuing his academic and volunteer goals, Wataru Takada enjoys watching English Premier League and Italian Serie A soccer and running in New York Road Runners races. Additionally, he's an avid reader of Japanese manga comics and has translated complete series into English.
