Jenifer Ross
Jenifer Ross | Bio
Since moving to the Westchester burbs in 1997, Jenifer has been making things happen.
Jenifer’s first business in the community was Red Wing Gallery, which opened in 2000 in Tarrytown. Soon after opening the gallery, she launched Tarrytown Third Friday, a monthly arts/culture/commerce event that drew people downtown to shop, support and connect. It included changing monthly themes, 45+ participating merchants, and the earned the reputation of helping to put Tarrytown in the map as a destination, bringing thousands of visitors over the 13 years it ran.
After closing the gallery in 2004, Jenifer held various other local positions, including Assistant Village Administrator for Tarrytown, Director of Development at Warner Library, Downtown Coordinator for the Village of Sleepy Hollow's Development Corporation and consulted in marketing, communications and social media for many local businesses.
Jenifer launched and ran W@tercooler, a shared workspace for area freelancers from 2011 to 2016. W@tercooler was the first coworking space in Westchester, providing area entrepreneurs, small businesses and agile workers an upbeat, affordable stylish place to work, learn and gather. With 60+ members and over 100 events and workshops annually, the space was a hub of activity and asset to the community.
After W@tercooler, Jenifer was recruited by Ginsburg Development Companies as Director of Community Experience charged with creation and oversight of programming, events and amenities aimed at building community among the tenancy at GDC’s luxury rental buildings.
As a serial idea person with an admitted addiction to order and flow, Jenifer is able to spin a vision into an executable product that is nothing less than innovative, inspiring, and on task. Whatever she touches, from downtown events to fundraising, community building to co-working, guaranteed it will be executed and managed in a spirited, non-traditional way that people remember.
Jenifer grew up in NYC’s Upper West Side. She holds a BA from Skidmore College. She later earned a Master’s degree in Architectural Preservation from the Savannah College of Art and Design and a second in Gerontology from Temple University, with a focus in aging-in-place. She lives in Tarrytown, NY.
