Laura Watson

Port Moody, British Columbia

I live and play in beautiful British Columbia, Canada and am fortunate to work in the world of sport. I live for the outdoors and love to camp and canoe, and I'm passionate about everything I do. I'm always going forward and never look back or wish I had. I'm forever competing with myself to be better than I was yesterday.

I am Sport...

As Senior Coaching Consultant with the Coaching Association of Canada, I work with the multisport National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) and thirteen different National Sport Organizations (NSOs). Previous lives saw me as Director of Sport for viaSport and Executive Director for the Coaches Association of BC.

I am a Coach...

As a Level 3 certified and Competition-Development coach, I've coached from grassroots to international level. I hold my professional designation as a Chartered Professional Coach (ChPC) with the Coaches of Canada.

I am Learning...

Having completed the Executive Education program at UBC Sauder School of Business, I also have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Kinetics, a Diploma in Sport Science, and a Diploma in Coaching. I'm not done learning yet.

I am Me...

I love wine, turtles, canoeing & camping, and anything that involves the outdoors. I pick up rocks, not to collect them but because I like rocks (for the same reason I like turtles). I run and try to lift stuff up. When I grow up I want to be Wonder Woman.

“The principle is competing against yourself. It's about self-improvement, about being better than you were the day before” ― Steve Young
