If I have learned anything in this life I am living, its that death brings life. Yeah, I know. Its a contradictory statement. But I believe that Jesus Christ came and walked this earth as a perfect man. He was 100% man, and 100% God. And he came to show this world grace and love like it had never experienced before. He came and paid the price for my sins, for your sins. He died. A brutal death. Death on a cross. Yet, death was not the end. He came back to life again, in the same body, three days later. He rose from the dead! His death brought the possibility of true life for all of us. He said in John 10:10 that he came so that we could have LIFE.
Death brings us life in a spiritual sense. But also in a literal sense--if you believe what I just typed above. In my own walk of life I have experienced death. I have lost people I have loved dearly. I have been in situations where everything around me felt life death, like there was no true life around. The beautiful and hard thing about this life is that each time we experience death--if you believe that Jesus Christ wants you to have life--we can experience life in a much deeper way afterwards. Death is dark. It hurts. It doesn't make sense. But I have become more and more alive from experiencing death. I have seen Jesus move in such mighty and miraculous ways. Ways that I would not have seen without death. I even understand more of the cross. I am more excited and ready for heaven.
Without death, there is no life. So here's why I live. I live fully so that people like you, people who have walked life like me, so that each of us can experience LIFE. Life that only death on a cross gave us a chance to find. Life in Jesus Christ is real. It's fun. It's freeing. And I want all of us to experience that.
Only in death-death to ourselves- can we find true LIFE. No contradiction there.
