Wayde Oshiro is the Interim Learning Commons and Library Coordinator at Leeward Community College. He has over twenty years of experience in academic librarianship including positions in public services, reference, instruction, and leadership. In his current position, he oversees both Library and Tutoring services.

As the Instruction Librarian from 2010 to 2013, Wayde led Leeward's Information Literacy Program. During his tenure, he revamped the online information literacy tutorial and exam, mapping test items to ACRL Information Literacy Standards and to skillsets developed by Project SAILS, a standardized assessment of information literacy skills.

Since 2014, Wayde's work has focused on Open Educational Resources (OER). He serves as a leader for the Leeward CC and UHCC System OER initiatives. He currently serves as a mentor with the Open Education Network's Certificate in OER Librarianship Program, an initiative of the Center for Open Education at the University of Minnesota. Wayde's recent interests include the advancement of equity through open educational practices and OER stewardship.
