Innovative Hip Hop/Trap/Afro Pop Recording artiste Way God (TIF Music, an indie family-owned label) originally hails from Senegal, Africa where music is interwoven into every aspect of life. He has always been a creative with a long successful career before music spanning from international modeling to designing and creating his own clothing line This is Fake with his brother.

Way God brings a unique perspective to rap as he speaks three languages: English, French, & Wolof (a Senegalese dialect), and can read & write in Arabic. His universality is apparent in his musical style, which is truly original. He is similar to a village griot in the cultural oral tradition of African storytellers and his rhythms are influenced by known African melodies, Bayefall chants and many melodies can be traced back to African beats. Whereas the village storytellers were tasked with educating the youth and teaching the ways, today’s hip hop artistes can choose to play a similar role and Way God is here to play his part to the fullest, set to the sickest beats and with intelligent lyrics. Another element that sets him apart from traditional rappers is his commitment to education as he earned a bachelor’s degree in international business from Salem State University and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree. He fuses all of these experiences together into a highly original auditory art form.

Sometimes tragedy can lead to artistic awakening as Way God was triggered to write after his father was brutally murdered in 2011. Instead of seeking vengeance, the paper and pen were part of his healing process as he wrote about what he would do if he caught the people who did it. Those words were natural lyrics, born out of suffering yet they called for music. While in Miami for modeling he went to a friend’s studio and recorded his first track “Came to Hurt”, and thus the rapper was born. One of his goals is to inspire people to use lyrics instead of guns.

His unique style caught the ear of superstar music mogul AKON’s sister, Khady Thiam Gueye, who is currently consulting and mentoring him. This year, Way God is in the studio recording his debut album under the creative direction of Wave, who is AKON’s son. The album is set to drop later this year.

He has latest tracks are available now on every streaming platform.
