Wayne Curran

Wayne Curran has been involved in music and the local live music scene for over 20 years. Starting out playing guitar at church at the age of 4, he then, at the age of 9, started his formal education in music, learning electronic organ, classical piano, and music theory. Wayne started teaching himself drums at about age 11 and got his first drum kit at age 12.
From then on he started being the drummer in all the school bands since no one else could play drums.
With his musical knowledge and practical abilities, Wayne quickly became the go to guy amongst his peers, becoming musical director of all the bands he became involved in.
Eventually in his later teens, Wayne was performing regularly in bands whilst completing an apprenticeship in the electrical trade. He was part of a group who wrote and performed original material and eventually this same line-up gravitated to a purely covers band.
Wayne successfully completed his apprenticeship and in that time, what started as a simple covers band soon evolved into the band we know of today as 'The 80's Flashback'.
Wayne ended up being the sole owner of the band by the early 2000's and after a short break in performing, he re-established the band.
Since then, a new band, aptly named ‘Diva Fever’, was established to fill the gap when some of the members of ‘The 80’s Flashback’ weren’t available and to broaden the scope of options that Wayne’s business offers.
Prior to the rebirth of The 80’s Flashback, the business ‘Wayne Curran Musical Enterprises’ was established and soon after ‘Wayne Curran Music & Entertainment’.
As of 2013, both bands are still performing regularly and receive rave review wherever they go.
